About Us
Since 1992, WARP has been helping Washington’s maritime employers by making USL&H workers’ compensation insurance coverage available for those unable to purchase it through the normal private insurance market.
Subject to applicants meeting eligibility criteria, WARP offers the following coverage to maritime employers through Washington licensed agents and brokers:
- Statutory USL&H coverage is provided for the US Longshore & Harborworkers’ Compensation Act
- Employer’s Liability may be offered up to a limit of $1,000,000
- Maritime Employer’s Liability (MEL) may be offered up to a limit of $100,000

Endorsements
Several endorsements may be available for policies issued through the Washington USL&H Assigned Risk Plan and descriptions of selected endorsements are provided below for general guidance.
Note: Waiver of Subrogation and Alternate Employer endorsements are not optional and are required for all Human Resource Companies.
The underwriter at the Servicing Carrier must be contacted to determine eligibility, establish a cost estimate and verify current endorsement forms.

Sample Policy form
Current sample policy form. Ensure that you review the actual policy provided by your insurance agent or broker for terms and conditions specific to your operations.

Endorsement: MEL
Used in cases where you have purchased maritime employer’s liability coverage. This option is included on the application for coverage.

Endorsement: Alternate Employer
Used when more than one company may be giving an employee instruction, to clarify which employer is covering USL&H.

Endorsement: Waiver of Subrogation
Used to waive subrogation against a specific party. Available upon special request to the underwriter.
